Motherhood certainly comes with all its challenges and blessings. Children are a huge inspiration and are sometimes the best reason to seek out a better life. Making your family a part of your business can bring the fulfillment and strength throughout the growth of a dream business. And having your family’s support has so many benefits that you do not realize. Our biggest life transformation and challenges come from Parenthood.
I considered my son to be my mini business partner and involve him in everything that I can. Whether we're moving homes, making decisions about having to travel with me on business, him helping me at event launches or even attending client meeting (sometimes they don't mind because they are parents too). He has been part of the journey and appreciates what I do just a bit more. And that's important for any mom (parent) to teach your child what you do and who you are, and not just single moms either…
Being a mom is NOT a setback. There is simply no reason that you cannot have it all! The reality is that even when you are building your business you do not have to work 24/7 to make your dreams come true. Today's mompreneur knows the real world has flexibilities, and we can enjoy life’s luxuries while still achieving our dreams. I get to drive my son to school almost every day and pick him up (most days). Not every regular “J.O.B” parent gets to do that.
Any entrepreneurship is a ton of work. However don't let the perception of this busy bee world count you out before you even count yourself in. Being a mom or even a single mom comes with a wealth of skills that do well in entrepreneurship like multitasking, creativity, managing tight budgets and problem-solving just about anything. How else do we get the negotiating of eating their dinner, getting homework done and playing a board game fair and square, then getting them to bed on time.
Don’t let the unknown stop you. Not knowing which steps to take first nearly paralyzes people with fear. But someone holding your hand who's already gone ahead in the journey before you and has overcame this emotional walls ...(Hmmmm) you only need to be open to collaborating by reaching out to others who can connect you to the tools of experts in marketing, manufacturing, production and sales. Each key person, or services that you can connect with will shorten the learning curve and give you the confidence that you are not alone.
I love helping other MOMprenuers... You'll be pleasantly surprised by how much we love to pay it forward and see new startups succeed. I can help you find or define your WOW factor and give you the Road Map just like a GPS to guide you.
